It's been a while...

1st of all huge congrats to Natalie and Patrick for getting engaged! So excited that they're finally getting married and that Natalie is going to be my SIL!!! Another huge congrats to Kellye and Matt for the arrival of the beautiful baby Evan! I cannot wait to see him in person but I check facebook every day for new pictures!

Not much has been going on here at The Effingham Palace.  I'm still on a slow but steady job hunt but things are starting to look up.  The past couple of weeks there have been a few more openings that I could actually apply for so let's all cross our fingers for a J-O-B!

Paul and I ventured out yesterday and bought an iMac and let me tell you...I'm in LOVE!  Both of our laptops are getting really old and Paul needed something that would let him work on his music and drill without so much stress.  The computer he was using kept turning randomly but it was always in the middle of his work and every time I swear I thought he was going to have a heart attack! But the problem is solved now and I can't get off of it!

This weekend is the Hurricane!  I know it sounds crazy but I'm kind of excited! I love storms and this one seems to be promising.  But I do hope it doesn't turn into another Hugo since I am super close to the coast now and not in the Piedmont any more. I also hope it doesn't ruin any plans of going to Kingstree to visit my family.  None of them (besides) my parents have met Wingo and they've GOT to meet my little comedian!

I'm rambling which tells me I need to stop.  Hopefully my next post will be about a job!

Back from the beach

We're back from spending almost a full week at the beach and it was AMAZING (as always). Unfortunately my face got super burned and now I look like alligator lady but that will get better soon. Let's just take a second to talk about the stuff you see on the beach! Jeez Louise! Some things really should be illegal! Specifically, old ladies in super inappropriate bathing suits! Yea yea you look great for 70 but that bathing suit would be inappropriate on a 20 year old supermodel! Some people just don't care I guess but I'd rather not see anybody's "goods" no matter what the age!

Although we had a fabulous time we are so glad to be home with our babies (Lucy and Wingo). We had a family friend coming by to feed them but this was the first time either of them had been left for a long time. Lucy was apparently a LOT more upset than Wingo because she kept digging out of the back yard! But theyre safe and sound now. We cuddled and played like crazy when we got home. I think all has been forgiven as far as Lucy is concerned and I'm not sure Wingo was even upset.

Our First 2 Weeks =)

Married = Check
Honeymoon = Check
Moved in = Check
Time to start the blog!

We got married on June 11, 2011 and it was such a WONDERFUL day! Everything was absolutely perfect and we are DYING to see our pictures!

We left the reception and headed out to Charlotte to our hotel in a '66 convertible yellow mustang (driven  by our friend Matthew Jones).  As we headed out was a little stormy but nothing to worry about.  However, about halfway down the road we realized that old cars don't have defrost.  I honestly didn't know if we were going to make it to Charlotte but somehow we did. It was absolutely terrifying!

We left the hotel in Charlotte at 4:30am the next morning to go to the airport and head out to JAMAICA!!!! Although it was fabulous, that weekend was turning out to be the longest of our entire lives! We were both EXHAUSTED! We got to Couples Negril (BEST RESORT EVER) around 12:00pm and we were STARVING AND SLEEPY!!! So we grabbed a quick bite to eat and slept the rest of the day.  So honestly, our honeymoon didn't officially start until Monday morning but we were well rested =)

We spent an AMAZING week in one of the most beautiful places on Earth! We went on a catamaran cruise to some caves that we got to swim in, we waterskiied* (most difficult word I've ever tried to spell), we snorkeled, night snorkeled (one of the most amazing things we've ever done), layed on the beach, floated in the ocean, swam in the pool, went shopping...all kinds of things! It was so wonderful and if we ever get the chance we WILL be going back!

Three things you should know about Jamaica:
1. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking
2. YEA MON!
3. The driving is insane! We kept our heads down for most of the rides.

We returned to America on Saturday and boy was that an adventure! We left the resort at 10:30am for a flight at 2:30pm.  We got through everything and were waiting at our gate only to find out that our flight was delayed to 4:36! So we began searching for a phone to call my parents so they would know not to show up at the airport for us at 5:30 anymore! Every pay phone in the entire airport was down and had been down for a month and no one had fixed them! Luckily there was a really nice man that worked there that leant us and several other couples his cell phone.

We finally get on the plane and take off for a very bumpy ride! When we finally get to Charlotte we had to wait forever to even get on the runway! A huge storm had come through earlier that day and taken out the computers so they were scrambling to get everything back on schedule.  We didn't leave the airport until like 10:30.

The next day we finally got to come home to The Effingham Palace. =) It's so cute and adorable! I absolutely love my house! (Especially now that it's finally set up!)

We spent the week baby sitting my little cousins and had a blast! They are precious and SO funny!

On Friday we welcomed a new addition to the Clayton family!  His name is Wingo Clayton! He is a 5 week old boxer puppy from Lincolnton, NC and he couldn't be more adorable! He is so sweet and cuddly! Today he got his facebook so you should add him and show him some love =)

I know this blog is insanely long so I'm going to stop now.  The past two weeks have been crazy and wonderful! We've been so busy but we're having a ball!
